What qualifications do I need

Hi,

I have 17th edition, 2392,2394,2395 and currently do all my work which is notifiable under Part P. I have been asked to do some wiring in a garden centre mainly for single phase lighting.

Would I need to gain extra qualifications to allow me to undertake the work legally? If so what would I need?

Why have you only just decided that maybe now you need electrical qualifications? Even though you have bern charging people previously for doing electrical work in their homes?

Yes, I am a plumber and heater engineer but due to huge problems finding a good electrician in the past I qualified as a domestic electrician.

There's a reason you have had problems finding a good electrician... A lot of them skip the core qualifications and think getting the 17th edition and testing quals will suffice.

Hi Mark, You will probably already know,that what you require to be qualified,and what you require to be competent,are two VERY different things. The term "qualified",can be applied by anyone,course deliverers,schemes etc,but the only important factor is ability to carry out the task correctly.Are you currently feeding a schemes expensive habit?
