Hi all

I'm a Niceic domestic installer, one of my customers asked me to look at there shop electrics , I said I couldent because I believed I was bound by the fact I was a "domestic installer" however after looking I can't find a "commercial installer " program with the Niceic apart from approved contractor which seems to apply mainly to people looking to have sparks working for them and so what would qualify me or even stop me from working on commercial shop electrics at 230v ?

Thanks

Jack

The key is competence.
Do you have sufficient training, experience and thus competence to undertake the work?
Do you have sufficient insurance cover?
The AC scheme is not aimed at employers it is a full scope scheme covering Domestic/Commercial/Industrial

Agreed. BS7671 says you need to be 'competent'. If you think you are, and can stand up in court and demonstrate it, then go for it. I like the 'insurance' caveat.
