what scale would you use on a multi meter to measure resistance?

Ohms range. Might have the greek letter 'Omega'. Units will be in Ohms, but often show as R. Daz

Could the answer be that you should be using a calibrated multifunction tester to measure and not a multimeter? Still in Ohms though.

Another thing they were quite particular on at school is the fact that it should be a low ohm scale (as opposed to a high ohm scale for insulation resistance)

The question is scale not setting, so yes, low ohms 0-200 or summat

It says to measure resistance. There is no mention of high or low. Resistance can be any value from 0 to infinity. Daz
