Hi people im just new to this forum and looking for some advice. i have just served my time and a friend has asked me to rewire his house and change over the DB....i have no issueswith the wiring or the change over but i am use to working on big commercial sites and my testing knowlege is minimal. i wondering if it is just a basic inspection sheet and basic test results sheet?
Also is it ok for me to sign this off??

Any replies would be very helpful thanks :)

Dean.

But no 1 else will sign off your work, unless ur friendly enough they trust you, but as far as i know not many would do it. If you going to be at this work get the cash pumped into you becoming part of a scheme

To change a consumer unit in a domestic installation in notifiable work under the Part P Building Regulations.
This means that is you are not a member of Part P scheme you have to notify LABC in advance and they will check the work throughout the install and charge a major fee for doing so.
If you are in a scheme you can self certify your work and inform BC afterwards through your scheme.

Electrically you can do the install, test, inspect and complete the BS7671 paperwork, but Building Control wise you cannot legally do this work.

Sorry Just seen that you are in Scotland where Part P does not apply, I am afraid I am not sure of the legal requirements in Scotland, but you may well be able to do this work.
Just make sure you are up to date on what and how to test competently.

yeh i know its a bit different in scotland. i know people without there 2391 that sign off installations but do it through a company, theres a strong possibilty they are not allowed to do this but i wasnt sure.
thanks for your help guys

Sorry I have realised I did not answer the final question.
The paperwork required for a DB change is an Electrical Installation certificate and the Schedule of Test results and the Schedule of inspections. Ideally you would have at least 2391-10 but the regulations requirement is competent and experienced, not qualified.
To change the board test first to ensure there are no problems with the current install that may preclude a board change then install the board then test again to ensure everything is still OK and working, make sure you have upgraded the earthing and bonding if necessary.
