I've been reading here & elsewhere about issuing a MWC for accessory replacements, and the merits of. Me personally I agree with issuing a MWC for a like for like replacement of a socket outlet for example. However, my MWC requires results for essential tests:
1) R1+R2 or R2. 2) Insulation Resistance. 3) Polarity. 4) Zs. 5) RCD if applicable. I have an NICEIC 2392 learning guide, which suggests the essential tests are 3, 4 & 5 (5 if applicable) and if reasonably practicable 1 &2. BS7671 only refers to results of tests, as suggested in the model form App.6,unless someone can advise me otherwise.
What tests would you carry out for a replacement socket or something similar? In my mind carrying out tests 1 & 2, require disconnection & disruptionin within the CU, which seems disproportionate to replacing a socket outlet?
