Hi
I've just finsihed my C &G 2330 lv3. I have heard of AM2 which is part of the NVQ. But what the hack is AM1 and Is it still around? I think the problem is I lack experience and the "DIY" skillset to be an electrician mate. Any advice would be very much appreciated. If you were to hire an electrian mate, what qualifcations/ skills would you expect him to have?

am1 was a pratical test after doing the 236 pt1,not sure if its still done tbh

^ I believe AM1 has been superceeded by AT1, which was infact a module in my 1st year fulltime of my level 2, it was a combination of theory / installation / testing, but a more basic version than AM2 obviously!

I'd work on the assumption that because we have an AM2 we must have an AM1
Can't imagine it not being still there otherwise we would just have AM
Well that makes sense to me if no one else:)

i did it the hard way city n guilds

am1 and am2 were practical tests of the c&g 236 course, tho from memory you could still go onto part2 if you failed am1,tho if you failed part 1 theory you had another chance to take it,if you failed again you were off the course but were given the chance to restart with the new part1 lads if the company allowed it.
