Had to connect a Bristan shower on friday...in the electrical section of the manual it stated-

"On installation of the appliance the impedance of the neutral and earth back to the supply source is to be less than 1 ohm. This is in line with general installation requirements of UK networks and will generally present no problem within the UK network."

Are they havin' a laff or have I missed a new test we should be carrying out?

Think it's the former. Somewhat arbitrary choice of values as well.

I think what they actually mean is r1rn and r1r2 values, just badly worded. And yes '1 ohm' is therefore a pretty arbitrary value, especially given the size of cable and cpd involved!

I wonder if they mean neutral-earth.....a PEN conductor as for TN-C systems..which i think can be found in europe......odd though that innit?..lol..:D

I was on 2391-2 recently, and 2 of the blokes on the course work in the same factory. They have PEN conductors to every DB. they said that when you remove an earth, it arcs! apparently its the german way!
