hi there

have a possible job customer wants 4 light fittings changed and replaced. circuit will be Tested and Minor Cert issued. Customer supplying light fittings.

i usually charge ÂŁ 30.00 so would ÂŁ120 sound fair ?

Seems a lot to me if it's straight replacements, should only take 2 hours at the max.
You probably have to charge what you feel is right for the job and you'll get the hang of doing that once you've done enough.

Sounds about right, but it would largely depend on what's coming down and even more importantly going up. If it's chandeliers requiring extra support where you might even have to access the floor from above then you'd want to push up the price but if it's chandeliers coming down and pendants going up (as happens when selling a house) then price can stay lower.

thanks for the advice sparks, when just pricing one fitting its easier. the ÂŁ30.00 a light fitting is for a striaght replacement, test of lighting circuit and certificate, which i think is fair. if light requires extra support via noggin and boards have to come up or i have to enter loft then the price would be higher. so on reflection i think for 4 lights a fair price would be ÂŁ90.00 tested and certified. 2.5 to 3 hours labour plus matierials/cert.

ÂŁ90 seems a fair price to me. if they are on 2 different circuits, you've got to do 2 MWCs.

It seems a little bit high, especially if its straight forward swops. I think you are bang on with ÂŁ30 per light if that's the only job but I would charge less for 4 light fitting in the same house as you have suggested.

You don't say where you are but ÂŁ30 per hour is probably OK, only you've seem the job, know what's required and understand what the "market" price for the area is.
