Hi,

So i want to buy a newshape connec LWB, I don't know anyone who has got one and cant find one to rent...

I don't know 100% if it will fit in the garage as it may possibly catch on the crest of the drive and path or as it goes in the garage.

I am willing to pay someone up to ÂŁ75 to come and try their 2014 - 2015 LWB Transit connect in my garage as I am in a pickle as to what do to as cannot buy one as don't want to risk it without trying first.

Anyone?

They will pretty much do anything to get a Sale. Bowl in to the ford dealership tell them you want to buy the top of the range one with every added extra going on finance but your only concern is will you be able to get in in the garage.....I bet the salesman will be more than willing to go on a test drive to see if it does.

I have tried every garage or dealership, within a good distance, I have also tried van hire places to see who has one, and the nearest one is in Swansea which is like a million miles away. I have literally tried everything.

Have you tried Northgate? If I remember correctly they are on meridian business park.

have you tried a tape measure.you know, a springy bit of metal with marks on it, before we had these new-fangled laser thingies.

Well if none of the dealerships will get you one for a test drive they can't want to sell you one badly enough. That sort of service would have me looking at other vans.

Let me check...

what I have tried is bolting two pieces of unistrut together ti make 4.8m then a 6" bar coming off it 3m apart leaving a 35" overhang. Basically trying to simulate a van.

its too close to risk unfortunately, I need to physically have one in front of me to see with my eyes as its a lot of cash to risk,

its not the length or width, it's if it catches the bumper or bottoms out as it goes over the crest of path to drive.

You could always lower the suspension!

But seriously if it's that close then don't risk it, or else you'll end up in a situation where it fits in when fully loaded but then you can't get it out again if you take the heavy stuff out if the back of it!

Full marks for trying the 'van simulator' uni-strut idea! Only thing I can think of is helium balloons in the back? Light weight titanium screwdrivers? :) Daz

Yeh… about 3 quid for a new switch… But I think there’s too many wires there for you to attempt to change it yourself
