I have recently been asked to test a unit which consisted of a ring main, smokes 2 lighting circuits immersion, water heater door supply.
The owner needs it testing as the mains had been cut by the board due to not paying the bill. I told the customer only dead tests as there was nop power and carried out a visual and r1 r2 test. What would you charge for something like this?

IMO there's no need for a genny. The dead tests will show that the installation is safe to be energised by the metering company.

Live tests such as Ze, polarity and RCD tests may then need to be carried out, if it has been more than ten years or a change of occupancy since the last PIR.
