Guys and gals, I am looking for a tool bag now that I have gotten all my basic hand tools.

I do a lot of moving around on site, up and down stairs etc. I do not want a toolbox because they are awkward and are a pain in the rear to put into a site box at the end of the day.

I am looking for something that is big enough to hold all the basic hand tools and preferably has a hard plastic base. I do not mind spending a decent amount of money, because I want something to last me right through my apprenticeship, since this is my career.

So far, I have narrowed it down to these options. However, if you have your own recommendation please do link it to me. I see a lot of guys using the Stanley backpacks, but I do not like them. Not big enough.

Velocity Rogue 5.0 with student discount. This is the one I’m really considering.

I really like the look of these CLC bags. However, the shoulder straps do not look that comfortable and no hard base. So, I am unsure how they will hold up.

I was looking at the Veto Pro Pac. But they are ridiculously expensive. ÂŁ150 is sort of my limit.

this is worth a butchers at the price.

I used to have the Stanley Fatmate back pack , was ok for the price

I've got mine sat behind me right now - crammed with handtools, drill, driver, grinder, 3-4 batteries.... weigh's a ton but takes the knocks and no complaints from me. ÂŁ60ish I think.

Iv used the fatmax one for 4 years. It does the job but its large and clunky.

Iv just treated myself to a small veto bag. Iv got everything that was in the fatmax but smaller and lighter but surprisingly more durable and feels quality.

Expensive mind

i dunno. a trainee with a veto. when i was a trainee it was a tesco carrier bag. ( and that was before they cost a shilling (5p for you wet behind the ears lot)).

My first tool bag was my old school sports bag , it actually lasted quite a long time until my padsaw ripped a huge hole in the bottom of the bag and stuff kept falling through the hole

I have the tool pouch a good buy, don't think you can go wrong with TB stuff

Show how much of a tight arse I am. Mine came from either Aldi or Lidl, can't remember which. I've had it a couple of years, get's carried everywhere full of tools and still in great condition. Save a bit of money on the bag and spend it on decent tools.

Do you mean a bag for life or actually tool bag ?

I've been using my Facom a lot recently and it's proving to be very good: Facom

I've also used Stanley FatMax in the past which was good but I found the external pockets fell to pieces very quickly.
