[ElectriciansForums.net] What wires go where?

Well all the fawning men are back in the caves licking their wounds and feeling ridiculous chatting up Arthur/Martha.

Times are hard... I'll chat up anyone... even your better half :)

One thing has made me chuckle here tho.. The cost of a fan like that at home base is probably the same cost as a wholesaler fan plus the call out..

I swapped one once for £40 (Like for Like) and when i said the price the guy said and how muck to fit?

(His daughter was fit and i was hungover thats why it was £40.

I would reply if you know the two wires already the white wire is usually a neutral ,I have a go at everything as electricians may not charge much but the fallout fee sometimes out ways a job. Is it your own house or council or private as council or private would replace it for you. My sane advice is switch of at mains and isolate all power and make sure all areas are completely dry if attempting job good luck.

I understand you are new to the forum....but please check dates before posting...this is an old tread.
Thank you for bringing that to my attention.being new makes my spelling more up to date.thanks for noting that maybe I just wanted to put my opinion for some one newer than me who may have the same issues

A non electrician offering electrical advice to another non electrician. The world really has gone mad. I did think of reporting this to the mods but there isn't an appropriate category.
