Hi all

Just a question about joining Elecsa. I contacted them by email today to see what is involved in joining then and what work they would need to see. this is part of the response
"As a competent persons scheme operator we would carry out an assessment on installation work carried out by yourself within the last 12 months.
Re the scope of works, it is not unusual to use work on a person’s own property or properties of friends and family for a first assessment.
However the installation needs to be to the current regulations, and correctly tested with documented test results.
The site must have a substantial amount of installation work carried out such as a consumer unit change or new ring and lighting circuits or a full rewire."

what kind of work has anyone else showed the assessor? did it involve a job as large as a rewire or consumer unit change?
I have a couple of supply to outbuildings Ive done and some outside sockets but was wondering if that would be enough.

cheers

More than enough mate, just make sure its cock on. They ask that the work you show them is a fair representation of the work you carry out. Year 1 no problem. Year 2 dont show him an outside light when you have notified 10 rewires, 30 CU's etc, but if all you have done is outbuildings and small jobs then its no problem.
