Replace four downlights in same postion, customer supplying the lights.

Find fault on lighting circuit (from whats been described, sounds like they've just messed up the switch wire, so should be straight forward.)

What would be a reasonable price to charge for the labour? thanks for any help.

whatever you wanty payed per hour for your time and guesstimate how long will take you.. fuel to get there .. upto you but if you charge to little youl learn from it if you want to..

If you're fault finding you won't know the price until you're finished as it could take you many hours - or a few minutes.

Out of interest why are you pondering over such a job 30 miles away?

4 spots should take you 1 hour, fault finding , if it is a mixed switch wire will take next to no time .
Job should take 2 hours Max, more if fault is more in-depth ( explain this )

If you choose to do a job 30 mile away it's not really the customers problem so don't expect a lot extra on travel expenses & time unless they really want you and you only to do the job, it's not more than £70 worth of work IMHO
