basically this shows out house, a lean to connects outhouse to house. spur from ring in loft out to JB. IN 2.5mm t&e.

carries on in 2.5mm to feed D/SO for FRIDGE.

another JB by D/SO down sized to 1.5mm t&e goes to switch then feed from switch for x1 light.

FROM JB also feed taken for light outside and one switch. fed off in 1.5mm t&e clipped to outside of house for light outside.

hope this is clear.

THIS is wrong as 1.5mm cable is now on a 32a MCB and is only rated to 15a approx

only way to achieve this would be to fuse down by adding FCU. 3a fuse.

t&e clipped outside. cannot withstand outside demands, heating up freezing cold, effects cable dramaticaly.
no means of mechanical protection for environment etc.

and i could go on.

codes you would give if coming across this and why. thanks in advance, and also what you think. nice easy one

code 2, its probably been like it for years and never hurt anyone. Needs sorting though. Code 1 is for immediate danger, which I don't think it is.

spurring from a 32amp circuit with 1.5mm is obviously a big no no, but at the end of the day, its only feeding a light and so the connected load isn't really going to overload the cable, you can spur from a 32amp ring circuit with 2.5mm, 2.5mm doesn't carry 32amps either, but it is ok for one socket because the maximum connected load would be 26amps. The only thing that is going to make the mcb trip is a short circuit, which the 1.5mm will stand for a short period of time.

PVC cable clipped outside code 4 at best unless it is damaged, otherwise we have millions of homes all with PVC cliped outside that could automatically deemed as unsatisfactory.

I'd code it 1

Doesn't matter if it's been in for weeks, or years- exposed live conductors - bare connector block, and maybe a bit of burning on the connector block as well

You're right Yeah Code 1 seen as its an exposed live conductor in a connector, code 2 if they had the brains to put some tape round it!!! lol

If you're going to give it a 'global' code, then 1 it is for the exposed live conductors.

You could seperate out the issues:
1.5 on 32A - 2
unsheathed conductors - 4
exposed lives - 1

As you say, an FCU and some heatshrink required.

you can do it yourself as long as 1. you can test and certificate the installation. 2, notify biulding control before starting and they will inspect in accordance with part p of the building regs,

1 all the way for me, dodgy is dodgy whether or not it's been like it for years, all down to your own interpretation with PIR's though isn't it.
