Discuss What's the best socket and switch brand .. in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

We've used Crabtree Capital ever since Tenby disappeared (I miss Tenby) We use MK for most stuff in commercial type offices etc. Have used some Click and found it acceptable. I didn't like the Schneider stuff much, the convex front on the sockets makes the plugs look like they are not properly inserted, really annoying!

For me its Hager or Schneider as my preferred choice. I find KEW in Bath give very good prices on Hager
But if its a tight budget then I will often spec Click, that said I have used a lot of the Denmans own brand recently and made usign same moulds as click so wouldn't be surprised if its not made by the scolmore group for rexel/denmans.
The advantage of the click range is the adaptable light switches, very good if you want a mix of 1 way/2 way or intermediate switches in a small switch without going down the grid route.

For plastic I use Hager and carry some square edged BG when occasionally required. Like click too.
Lap get a lot of bad reviews if you look closer - quite a few say the switches stop moving after a few months. I would avoid. For metal my favourite is Schneider flat plate. BG Nexus aren't a bad metal budget option but have had a couple of failures in the past couple of years..

Needed a socket at short notice today so went to B&Q and grabbed a MK. Build quality seems okay but dissapointed that there's no covers for the screw heads

Schneider metal accessories, normally MK for plastic.
