Situation is this,

Been asked to look at and quote for extending a cooker circuit and replace the old isolator/socket plate.

Thing is fuse box is in kitchen and cut out is in the lounge, about 18m away and fusebox supplied in 16mm twin and earth.

If i bring said cooker circuit upto scratch, rcd etc, am i responsible for the twin and earth supply to the fusebox?

question is. is the cpc in that 16mm T/E adequate? you must bring earthing and bonding up to standard.

no, it's not. you are responsible for doing your work to current regs. you don't have to bring the rest of the installation up to current regs with the exception of earthing and bonding, as said. you should however comment on it in " comments on existing installation"
