If you wanted to sell a cable stripping tool where would you think the main markets would be ??
Are the emerging markets like China ,Brazil and India the places to target.
Has anyone any experience of working in these areas ??

First thing i'd do is get the price right. I memory serves me right, the little gizmo you're on about is a right rip off.

I am not sure if the health and safety rule and regulations of those countries are as harsh as ours, pretty sure they would rather use a hacksaw and knife then shell out for an expensive pipe cutter.

If I wanted to sell cable stripping tools I'd try selling them to people who strip a lot of cable. This might not necessarily be electricians, just people who strip a lot of cable. You could try selling them to people selling cable at the scrapyard, or, umm, going to the place where they live.

Or sell it at a reasonably low cost!!!

I would say more of a 'relative' cost - £82.80 might be reasonable for something which will strip 500m of any kind of cable in an hour, but not for something which takes a day of backbreaking manual cranking and only does singles up to 2.5mm.

What should the price be then Mark ?

If its as good as you say then, £35 - £40.

The easiest way to stop the negative response to it (mainly due to the cost) is send a sample out to me or someone else for evaluation.
I would review it fairly on several sizes of SWA (most of my work is commercial and Industrial) and let every one know in the review section of this forum, that way you would get honest feedback with free advertising.

Shall I PM you my address?

I mentioned this to the other guy a whiles back who was supposed to be the inventor of this little gizmo. Said to him i'd part with the cash but only if they had a return policy you could use if it turned out to be bobbins.

Never had owt back believe it or not!
