alright guys and girls,

so have 2330, 17th 2392, about to do 2391 both parts, then what can i do? degree? wot other options are there??

Many thanks
Danny

Danny, I was the same a couple of years ago, I started a degree in electrical engineering. Now in the middle of the second year really enjoying it. But as Lenny said the jump from the 2330 to degree/HNC level is immense, the jump is not for the faint hearted. But if you like a challenge and you are prepared for the amount of time which it will eat up go for it, you will find it very rewarding!!!

Depends what the end game is. Either slight change of direction to HNC followed by degree or more specialised qualifications (MCS, PAT etc) on your current course. If you're in anyway worried about the maths content you could do the OU M101 (or whatever it is these days) to see how you coped with that.

Tbh guys i haven't got an "end game" at the minute, currently running my business and wanted to look at the next stage to achieve personally and professionally.
Cheers for all your input.

I am sponsoring one of my successful apprentices to do the HNC In Electrical and Electronic Engineering. I am taking the HND in Building Services Engineering at LSBU. Everything is based on maths. We had a mock exam on 10th Dec and over 50percent failed it. That said, for those that are interested it is a great course and the day flys by.
If that's not for you you could consider Project Management, Quantity Surveying or construction law. Any of the Engineering degrees would have business or management modules as part of the course.

That would depend on teaching at what level Danny. You'd need a teaching qualification and degree to teach at Senior School Level. I'm not sure about college (try asking Howard aka Sir Kit Breaker, I believe he's at a college now). You could probably do an allied role, say a lab technician at college for example.

If you mean PP assessing then try approaching NICEIC, ELECSA and NAPIT and ask what their assessors need. I know one guy who works at the local council and is involved with their installation assessments. Ex forces radio engineer who went the 2330 route on leaving.
