I suppose it depends on what you are used to, I prefer industrial and commercial installations but i am doing a lot of domestic work at the minute. As to which is easier, i suppose it depends which area you have the most experiance.

Domestic is ok if the house is empty. No worries about moving furniture, carpets and climbing thru stacked out lofts. If you have to work round the customer it can be a bit of a nigtmare-ie,trying not to leave them without power too long.:DHaven't much experience of industrial and commercial lately but it's been a lot less hassle and easier than domestic i reckon

I agree with Mac
I was brought up on doing occupied domestic rewires (in the 1970s) which I enjoyed and then went on to mains work, standby generators, site work and then new warehouse and factory installations.
The best jobs were new warehouse and factory installations. Working on hoists installing cable trays and ladder racks and then pulling in the larger SWAs using an electric turfer (winch) and terminating large SWAs into panels. We were only a small firm and a couple of us would plan out and install the whole thing in a few months working away from home. That was great electrical work but I couldn't manage the physical side of it now. I reckon there's more money in commercial work if you can get a good source. I'm mainly domestic now with a bit of commercial.

Those were the days!
