Hi all,

Just joined the site been looking at it for a while now picking up tips and advice and thought it was about time to actually join.

So my first question is what bolster do you guys recommend?
looking for something decent nothing worse than having cheap tools that break after first use.
Im looking for one with a safety guard. Iv had a quick look on screw fix but there selections are limited and to be honest the wholesalers round me dont offer the best selection

any advice would be much appricated

cheers

don,t bother with a safety guard!from experience if you miss and hit the guard the hammer usually ends up hitting your wrist which can break it,best thing is an ordinary 2" or 50mm bolster after you hit your hand a couple of times you learn not to do it again.

Use a 2" 50mm bolster with out guard. My dad used to say you wont hit your hand again if you do it once also have wide 3" one but dont use it much

iv used both types (with and without safety guards) guess it aint the most important thing... main question is what make do you guys recommend?

This one was good until the obvious happened.

with rotary stop on any good sds, 110v or cordless ( i have the makita 18v sds and the bosch 36v VfLi) the use of these crude hand tools has become a thing of the past. Can't even recall seeing mine for 5 or so years.
