Okan

I have installed a double socket in a hall and taken the feed directly from the existing 32a MCB in the CCU. The MCB already has a final ring on it. My question is which certificate would i put it on?? Is it an installation cert because it feeds directly from the circuit protector, or is it classed as a spur and will then be a minor works cert. Any help would be apreciated

New circuit needs E.I.C if you can reroute cable and tap into existing ring thus not routing through CU then it changes to a M.W.C.
hello and welcome also Okan.
P.S. If i read this right and you fed the new socket directly to CU then E.I.C. but if youve tapped off existing ring then M.W.C.
Phew how long winded was my answer ?

If it is connected to the same protective device then it is not, by definition, a new circuit. It is in fact the same circuit.

Yep didnt read it right  Yes you are right :D a spur can be taken directly from the cu circuit protective device of an existing ring and this is a minor works certificate.
Im off to fetch my coat now :(

It’s sad that you had to say no more money to them for them to pull their fingers out.
