for an inspection, the consumer unit is only about 100mm above gas meter, which code do you guys think? i am thinking this is dangerous and have given code 1.

Hi, i'm new but have been a spark for over 10 years, I had this on a ELECSA inspection, the fuse board was about 100mm away from the main gas meter i mentioned it and showed the inspecto,r he said that it was ok as it was installed before the reg's got so tight. I still noted it and put it as a 4.

Cheers

Well the recommendation is a minimum of 150mm....so IMO 50mm closer doesnt suddenly become dangerous.....I would code 4...but accept it is down to the inspector to use his judgement.

I would code 4 it. Interestingly the gas fitters I come across dont seem to have a clue about this reg or the 75/50mm from a gas pipe to an elec cable.
