I've just started the 2330 level 3 and seeing as at our college its only one night a week I've decided to do the 17th edition and 2391 I&T over the forthcoming year.

Which one should I do first - I was thinking possibly the 2391 to help me with my level 3 or do you think this is too much to take on? Any advice would be appreciated

thanks

Andy

I would do the 17th first, some colleges will not let you do 2391 without having 2382 before hand but Shakey will probiley say that it is not cast in stone that you must have it, only the college ruling you must.

Better you do have 17th as you have a better idea what you are looking for when you start testing and inspecting.

Well I did my 2330 L3 with my 17th half way through, and then my 2391 in July. I found that waiting to do the 2391 at the end of my 2330 year was probably the best way to go as I learn't so much in my 2330 L3 that put me in good stead for the 2391. Incidentally if you have 2330 L3 then you only have to do a one day course to before you sit the 17th exam.

you got it Ian, it isnt cast in stone, but if someone came to me to sit 2391 who wasnt regs qualified i would have some serious reservations......they would have to convince me, and thats for their own sake.:)

Thanks for the response. That makes sense to do the 2391 after the 17th so I have a better understanding of the regs and also have more knowledge on testing from the 2330 level 3.

As a result I've now signed up to do the 17th Edition over 12 weeks starting in January!
