As title says really. Would like advice on a good crimping tool. Just bought one from online and it was totally useless. Wouldn't even crimp a ferrule onto a piece of 16mm tri rated cable, so i ts going back.

Thanks guys

I use knipex square die crimpers been using them for a while now, can't post a link at the mo just on the phone. They are quite expensive but they do give a great crimp, think I started a thread a few weeks back about bootlace crimps there were several links on there. Cheers

Got the Knipex ones for 0.5mm to 6mm ferrules are they are the dogs. Can't seem to find them for the larger sizes. Will search for the other thread.

Thanks

These will do it.:)

HA HA....I got mine for nowt.......booked them out from the stores of the company I was subbing to a couple of years ago and returning them must have slipped my mind. Happy days.:D

They had stores full of kit mind.....Fluke DMM's, Bahco socket sets, wall to wall Knipex gear, It was almost like a **** shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p

Yep my m8 works for mitie about the same kind of thing, he takes orders now from all of us:D. Dave have a look on the thread started by acat about crimps on the threads page, notsosmart put up a link to a wesite that sells crimpers that look identical to the knipex ones and I think they were considerably cheaper.

Nice one, got these in the end, expensice i suppose but they should last. Are the same as knipex i'm sure of it.

Anyway, when crimped to the end of a 16mm tri-rated cable, the ferrule doesn't fit into a standard nuetral bar terminal, not on Wylex CUs anyway. Is the way wrong it to get a nuetral bar capable of taking a 25mm cable.
