Which make would you use....?

Morning chaps....

Have job to price where I have to install x 8 (not all in the same box!) grid dimmers which will be used to dim various banks of R63 60w spots, largest load being 480w (think only Richmond will do this) and smallest 120w. so want to avoid any call backs once finished if possible.

Question is what make of grid dimmer would you say is the most relaible:

Crabtree, MEM, MK, Richmond, any others ?

Have been looking into it an MK dont seem to be rated that well.

Fit the 700W units as standard
  • Everything looks right.
  • Use the same manufacturer for all other switches.
  • What (watt) will do a little will do a lot.
 
If a dimmer is very oversized for the lighting connected to it you may have flashing problems where the light blinks/strobes on and off. I usually draw the line at the dimmer being double the wattage of the lighting.

Thank you for that info didnt realise, could have saved me quite a bit from 'cocking up' :)
