Is there a particular panel you would always recommend over any other manufacturer?
I'm currently looking for information to cover my roof which is approximately 8m x 3.5m and get as close to the 4kW as possible.

Also, same question regarding inverter manufacturer and model?

Thanks in advance.

Suntech is a great option but with the size of roof you have you may find that Sanyo will give you a better return on your investment as your roof space is limited. Sanyo panels produce more power per square metre when compared to other panels so they're a really good option for small roofs.

Inverter is a little more complicated. Generally, you work out what size system you can fit on your roof and then work out which inverter is most suitable for that system - this is dependant on a few things: panel voltages/amperages, shading and efficiency.

Thanks very much. Suntech was mentioned to me as a cheaper panel without performance compromise. I'll have a look at the Sanyo range too.

Had a measure and have 8.85M x 3.4M.

Do panels but up against each other or is there normally a gap between edges? If there's a gap, is that deemed by the manufacturer or the fixing kit?

EDIT - Just looking at a Schuco On Roof kit and it seems it's 22mm between panels.

Gap is generally 20mm between panels with slight differences between manufacturers.

You'll find Sanyo will be far more expensive than Suntech.
