Hello I just wanted to ask what qualifications are the ones that employers recognize and will make life easier in getting an electrical field job ?

i have EAL electrical/electronic diploma in engineering LEVEL 2 and LEVEL 3
I need to get my CSCS Card for definite

there are many city and guilds qualifications available but which ones are the best and the right ones
i have electrical installation and testing experience with series and parallel lighting circuits aswell electrical encenclosures

if anyone can inform me it would be greatly appreciated

thankyou

I'm sure you don't need an AM2 as long as you have an NVQ3 and time served which is checkable. Mind you some who get the gold card don't even know what a 13a plug top looks like nowadays.

I never did an apprenticeship having been too old for one. I was advised NVQ3, 16th (now 17th) edition, and finally 2391. That and loads of experience.

It all depends what you have

nvq 3 + am2 = gold card
lv 2 and 3 2330 (might even need 17th) + nvq 3 = gold card

gold card + 2391 (or 2394,2395) = approved electrician

Hi John, I thought i would put a reply to your post as the correct information is shown in the link provided - ECSCard Website if there is any reasonable doubt then the answers are found on this site. According to the information you can complete an NVQ3 and an AM2 and receive your gold card. You can also complete your 2394/5 and request grading for approved status as well.

i am sure this will clarify any questions in the future.
