Hi all,

I have pretty much decided on a Megger 1553, unless I get told otherwise by those of you that are much wiser than I! But do you think it is worth paying the extra for the onsire software? Many thanks, Chris

Thats the bluetooth one i think im not sure it will save you much time you will still have to input cable sizes for each circuit breaker types cable type . Its only the test results you will bluetooth over how long does it take to jot a result down? of course its your decision and you will do whats best for you. best of luck just for the record ive had no direct experience with this tester

Dont really think its worth the extra money 1552 much better

Chris

Thanks, I was originally thinking of this but with the 1553 only £15 more I thought it was worth the extra, is there any other reason to go with the 1552? Does the battery last longer? Thanks, Chris

If it is only £15 more then go for the 1553 then if you start to do larger testing jobs the powersuite software and bluetooth will definately be an advantage.

the softwear is ace n ur client can get a Viewer for it as Sintra says its great for big sites Company I work for have their own adaptation of certs on Lappy but I cant bluetooth to it still 200% better than filling all those wee boxes with a pen :(:(

i'm in the market for a new multifunction tester. i was looking at the fluke 1653B, borrowed megger for a while n made my neck ache using the strap, think the flukes lighter n more robust tho havent used one for a long period.

You wont go wrong with the Megger. I first thought the bluetooth was a Gimmick but found it really useful. Ive also had a fluke but megga wins hands down for ease of use.

the ones mine came with lasted 3 weeks of doing PIRs every ready energiser pro the battery indicator flashes at around 8.5 v n continuity tests is affected

i got alphatek metrel erotest easi, and is great.dont have to carry tables with max. results they are built in!! megger is just most popular but i dont really think best
