I

ICE

Need to get a new van soon.

It would be good to hear which vans you are all driving with + & - points on your sturdy steeds

Cheers

:cool:ICE:cool:

I am on my second Vauxhall Vivaro 'Sportive'. Had this one for 3 years now with out any problems at all (touch wood) Air conditioned, 6 speed box, electric windows/mirrors etc etc etc. Only downside is I have the 1.9CDTi which when fully loaded is a bit sluggish up hills but I hear the 2.5 is great. Would probably go for the longer wheel base as well next time so that 3mtr lengths fit in the back better rather than poking my passengers in the ear!!

....depends on what your needs are but I've had two:

- VW Transporter T4....basic tank but 100% dependable and a great workhorse. Good resale value here in Cornwall as the surfers like them
- Mercedes Vito.....a much nicer drive than the T4 and the best I've driven

I have a 55 plate Merc Vito 111 extra long wheelbase at the moment, but just dont like it, I was thinking along the lines of a Peugeot, what do you think...

I carry a lot of weight, SWA & 10KVa transformers and cover a lot of miles...

What don't you like ICE? Is it driving comfort or pulling power? The big Vito is a pretty decent van. Don't think you'll get build quality like the Merc (or VW).

Do you need a LWB van? Have you thought about a pickup?

Astravan 120 Sportive. Cracking drive when it runs OK but constant problems with EGR valve (a known recurring problem).
Usual shocking service from Vauxhall dealers.

Cant go far wrong with a Berlingo in my opinion!

You aint driving it hard enough!:p

Hmmmm, very nice.

But just wait till its starts playing up.

Tried the thrash the living daylights out of it cure- no joy.
Its OK when you drive it like a loon, its when you drive it steadily it coughs and farts!

Blimey this is turning into the Astra owners forum:D
