I have the veto xxl fix which I went for as the ot would have meant debris from site falling in it , but it's over 25 kg now, I have the tech pouch too which is handy, but think I'm gonna get the Xl ot to split up tools .

All this talk of tool bags, i have 2 of these one for my hand tools one for my power tools. Had both over 2 years been bashed around on site dropped down stairs and kerbs regular and still in as good condition as the day I first brought them. L zips to knacker up and p,enty big enough to see all my tools with out wondering where something is and the combined cost of both is a damn sight more than one of these bags.

Dillb I think you must have been lucky with yours, I had one for 2 years on sites which got a little abuse not as much as yours from the sound of it, these are excellent on big sites where the van is 20 mins walk away, the only issue for me is their robustness and the fact you need a small bag as well for jobs climbing up to different levels via ladder! And lack of real security for when its out of sight ,one poor lad lost ÂŁ1500.00 worth of gear in 10 mins ,he'd locked it all up including chain to railings and went to the site office for some drawings and came back to a couple of chains hanging off the rail!

I had issues from the start with mine....
the clips that held the lid on broke very quickly, I managed to get replacements foc then those went
the wheels kept on falling off/splitting
, I made some mods and fitted my own wheels and axle which improved it no end!
Just got bungees holding lid now!

Its a great idea just a shame that they are like most things these days made with a max working life which is less than we would like!
A friend of mine said there's a military version which people use to lug gear around in , "hardigg boxes" but unless they're on ebay second hand they are expensive!

Im lucky as usually only work on site where everyone gets on so no problems with theft of tools etc. Did yours have the metal,or plastic clips as i only, buy ones with the metal clips as the plastic omes are rubbish.

I went for metal as I thought they'd be better !
and I'm careful with gear ie didn't force the clips with too much gear in etc!

I went down the tool bag route in the end mainly for the access reasons as spent a lot of time on platforms, lifts etc or climbing stairs/ladders
and if I was somewhere alone on site and didn't have a mate to keep an eye on stuff , where I went the bag went! even at breaks etc
that theft I mentioned before was on a site where everyone knew everyone and still stuff would dissappear!

Definitely a gap in the market for a proper site box !

not really cause site boxes disapear as well from time to time

Shanky I think that's mentioned in my op

You'll never stop toerags! But if there was a tougher wheeled box with decent securing attachments available it might deter them on some occasions
I know a bloke who has one of these and it's alarmed and has an alarmed security chain through the middle of the box which is rigged so he gets a text/call if someone even moves the box cost him ÂŁ40 to do it, oh and its spray painted a bright orange so anyone carting it off should be noticed!

I have the tech Xl, worth every penny. It doesn't hold a drill though but I usually carry 2 anyway. I am thinking about getting another.

Must admit, until joining this forum, I had never heard of Veta Pro. I certainly never knew you had to have one to be a proper sparks.
I have had just about every new fad of toolbox and tool bag of recent times so I didn't exactly need it, but you know how it is.
Anyway after some deliberation, the Xl arrived last week.

The verdict : I am very impressed,

I`ve had allsorts of tool bags boxes over the years but bought myself a
husky bucket jockey yank thing a pouch that fits over a 5 gallon bucket dear over hear but less than
$10 for the pouch in the states

any good? i had a look at one when i bought my xxl-f in the shop and they seemed good but a little too small for me
Well I'm still delighted with mine. My preferred "tool box" is the Snap On/Halfords type drawer chest, where you know exactly where everything is and takes seconds to find it. This type chest is not very portable and did my head in "rattling" when I had it in my vehicle.
Thats what I love about my Veto, it's like a drawer chest except it's portable, doesn't rattle, and I still know where everything is.
Maybe it's OCD, but I have got into the habit of putting each tool back in exactly the pocket I got it.
Well worth the dosh for me.
