if the box is wall mounted

Does anyone poke the cable directly through the membrane hole and accept this is a good seal?

or do you generally fit a stuffing gland

?

I always use a gland as pennywise says it helps prevent putting stain on the connection it also looks a better job .I do like the wiska boxes especially come in handy these days now evening seams to have a pre wired flex on it

I always gland into a wiska box, mainly to provide mechanical strain relief, also helps with water ingress too obviously. In Europe they never gland into any of their wiska boxes or equivalent.

This is why I asked the question...
I have always used a 20mm gland but recently saw a wiska installation video presumably filmed in Europe the electrician just ran all his cables directly into the boxes without glanding.
They just push the flex straight through the rubber membrane and job done. Very quick indeed and no faffing about winding in glands.
Is the membrane designed just for European electrics...?

Some months ago I came across a front garden installation with (if I recall 9 boxes) where all the cables had been just pushed through membranes, then all the boxes buried under gravel. About half of them were half full of water/muck. Obviously the installer must have watched this European installation video.
