HI,

Was wondering who done your EPC's and how much they cost?

Are there any good national companies? or just using local guys?

Thanks

We use local guys - several of them because we're so widespread it's not fair to ask them to travel when we want them to keep the price down. We pay between £40 and £50 and although it's more paperwork and a bit more hassle so far it's working reasonably well and the DEA's seem to appreciate the extra work.

We pay not the customer but we also don't get involved in daft price wars so it's built into the cost.

were about are you maybe i can get my guy to get 1 of his guys around the country if in your area to call you PM me

We use a local guy but were stung last week when we ordered one in the South of Scotland and received an invoice for £255 which included travel and time....expected to pay a bit extra but nothing like that.

Going to try a national company next time for ones more that 50 miles away. From looking on google there seem to be EPC sites with databases of assessors so you can pick one nearby.

WOOW!!! HAVE I READ THAT CORRECTLY!! ditch the solar do epcs lol (dont tell me you paid it)????????????

I have been EMCK accredited today so I will be doing our own from today so we are keeping all jobs in house now.

I was paying £35 - £75 .

one guy asked for £110.00 I told him price too high....

its not the cost of the EPC its arranging for somebody else to do it on every job so I will be doing it myself.

Doing it ourselves also with ECMK.

Also doing the commercial EPC course in June.

Have paid £75 each up to now, 16 in total since rule change so wasted £1200 , Course was £2000 plus week off so long term we will be better off in house.

Also no third parties to organise on our projects or potentials.

Going to need it all for green deal assessor anyway .

Did you pay it?

I would question that. Any decent assessor would have contacted a local guy to reduce time/cost for his client. OK he may add a few quid, but that is ridiculous. If I am asked to do work out of my area. I refer people to the Institute of Domestic Energy Assessors find an assessor site.

I charge £60, but keep my area of coverage fairly small. If you went through an Estate agent or letting agent you would be charged £90-£125. National supplier will say cheaper, but some of these sites are scams or the DEAs don't show up due to not being paid themselves by the national panel.

Stick with a local, know who is representing your company and get a signed agreement that they won't tell other PV installers about your clients. I get PV installers call me prepared to pay £300-£500 for a hot lead like that, but that's not the way I do business. I can see that it would be tempting for some.
