Hi everyone,

I'm looking to join one of the following Napit, NICEIC or Elesca, anyone offer advice as to which one they have found the best or worst as the case may be. .

cheers

NICEIC are the largest and best known however the best way forward is get applications from all three and see which one suits you the best. They all have their little quirks NAPIT I believe require you to take a test every five years to keep your 2391 valid with them yet the qualification is valid for life.

I think NAPIT looks pretty good, I believe they cover PIR's as standard too. obviously providing you have all the correct qualifications. I know certain larger clients property consultants etc only want to deal with niceic approved contractors, however I reckon some of the lesser known schemes could work out better for smaller businesses perhaps.

Elecsa are for the contractor whereas nic are for the customer. All the top bods in elecsa are ex contractors so know what it's like in the reAl world rather than dealing with a suit who ain't got a clue how it really is. Your choice as you pays your money . Cheers

Im with Elecsa, Very nice assessor very friendly and helpful. Decent price too. If you go with them drop my details and I think we both get £25!!

apprentice served and 17th at the mo and want to take 2392 as soon as I can afford it.

If you are unemployed you can go to your local college and do your 2392 for free.

You just fill in the enrolment form and then they need you to fill in a proof of benefits form, as long as you are in receipt of:

Jobseekers' Allowance
Council Tax Benefit (not discount)
Housing Benefit
Income Support
or you are the unwaged dependant of a claimant.

NICEIC was the choice for me after 6months with NAPIT i released that most customers dont know what part p is they just know NICEIC. being with NICEIC domestic installer scheme makes my life easier. next step approved contractor.
