I have got a new Mt1720 Megger tester and it measures to 999 Megohms. the old one my boss loaned out to me and my assesment testers only go up to 299 Megohms. Why do they go so high now?

so its not to comply with new regs or anything its just a manufacture quirk.
We use Chauvin Arnoux 5kv units that measures to 10T

I used to use a Kewtech KT65 which tests at 250v up to 199MΩ; and at 500v up to 900MΩ, not that I consider it anything to shout about

I normally put greater than 199 meg on cert if it goes over that to save on the extra ink used to write the other 9
