Put lights on a ring circuit?

There is some benefit to it, for instance...

If we had a 90m Radial that due to volt drop or CCC had to be 2.5mm² then connecting the circuit as a ring in 1.5mm² would save a fair bit of copper. Even though the circuit may end up as 100m as a ring we would still save a significant amount of copper and pvc.

90m of 2.5mm² would use 585000mm³ of copper

100m of 1.5² would use 400000mm³ of copper


A massive 32% more efficient use of copper alone. Not to mention PVC.

its common in commercial to use 2.5mm for lighting due to loads and distances even seen 4mm

streetlighting uses 16mm2 or 25mm depending on distance
