Had a company come out the other day to install one of new meters in house didn't tell him I was a spark but he couldn't give me an answer when I asked hoe come my tails have to be 25mm and there's are only 16mm also asked him why my earth was 25mm and there earth is of smaller size can any one tell me why the lad must of been made up to get out my house makes you wonder if he was a spark as he never answered one of my electrical questions can any one tell us why they use different reqs to us

Meter fitters only know that the brown wire goes in the hole with an 'L' next to it and the blue wire goes where the 'N' is. :)

They even get that confused at times too.... lol!!

The simple answer to your question is, .....none of them are sparks these day's, or very very few of them!!! So don't expect them to be able answer any question. Most at best get a day or two of training before being let loose on the world... lol!!!

They use different Regulations from us, because no one other than someone authorised is allowed to work on their systems.
However in this instance, both sets of Regulations have essentially the same requirements.
If their Regulations only require 16mm² conductors, then so do ours.
Conversly, if our Regulations require 25mm253 conductors then theirs will as well.
