is there anyone on here putting up large wind turbines? We have been out to survey for a 150kw PV and they are asking about a 500kw wind turbine and we are wondering about the grid connection, does it connect via an HV connection straight into the grid or will it feed in to the adjoining factory via a transformer???? 11kv and 33kv onsite with their own transformers feeding the factory at 415v

Could the factory take the whole 500kW 24/365? You will have to ask the DNO regarding connection as they will be aware of voltage and thermal limitations on the local network. Having 33kV onsite is a good sign.

Some DNOs (e.g. WPD) do now provide maps of their networks showing where there are limitations so you might find one on your DNOs website.
