Any pointers on cctv wireless systems ??

Jobs more of a favour than anything never done cctv

Wireless again.....you might as well tell every thief with a 4-5ghz receiver to check the place out first, so they know were every camera is installed. Buy a cheap receiver monitor on ebay..youll be amazed what you pick up when walking down your local street.
If you are going to install it do it professionally, and hard wire it...!!

Here Here.. Get the cables in.. dont even consider a wireless system.

Wireless is great. If you're worried about people snooping then use cut and rotate scrambling modules, or use COFDM. Narrow band gear. That uses 128 bit AES encryption. Massive range but pricey. Use MEL. gear and ask them to invert the video and no one is gonna see your images but you. PM me if you want specifics.

if cost is his issue....then encrypted modules will be right out of budget

ÂŁ120 for encryption ? ÂŁ2500 to transmit HD. 27 km. if you can cable it cheaper go for it ! Wireless has its applications when cables can't be laid or get forgotten. I spent years sorting RF problems so I agree lots of bad kit but also lots of great gear out there.

We know where you coming from....and are not disagreeing with you, as most local councils are using encryption transmitters...
But do you think your effort and trouble has really been listen to by a diy post looking for a cheep wireless camera....lol
