Hi all, was wondering if is possible to wire a 3 amp table lamb directly to a mains light switch?
The light switch is used for an outside light has two brown wires going to the switch and two blue wires in a chocy block going nowhere?
Thanks.
Steve.

How are you intending to connect it to the circuit.

You intend to connect the table lamp flex direct to the light switch?

How will you get the flex into the light switch?

Pics sent hope it makes sense?

The best way to do this would be to bring another trunking from the bottom and fit a 2A socket. The socket would require a three core cable as well as additional 30ma rcd protection.

"It works" and "it's safe" are not necessarily the same thing. With DIY work, they are often far from the same thing.
