Why would you wire in 3 core unless you are going to use for a permernat feed for emergency lighting , on a three phase board you'd wire in rows for example 10 rows of 5 fittings each row would be balanced betweeen each phase ,IE , L1 row 1-5 fittings L2 row 2 - 5 fittings L3 row 3 - 5 fittings L1 row 4-5 fittings L2 row 5 - 5 fittings L3 row 6 - 5 fitting etc ,and wire each row as you would single phase but a different phase per row and this will eliminate the 50hz flicker (if using switched start fittings) thats if im understanding your question but im confused about the three core please explain some more

all i got told by the boss was 80 lights wiried in three core. i thought there must be emergency lighting hence the three core just wanted to check that there was no other way to wire them. do i still rate the lights at 100w per light all shall i check the manufactors guide lines

work from the manufacturers spec , you may be hard pushed to get 100 watt flourescents ,so work out your loadings and if they are switched start dont forget the 1.8 multiplyer , you may well find that some of the flourescents are emergency types hence the 3 core , dont forget test kets in the switch bank if they are and work out how many rows , try and get as many rows with the equal amount of lights so as to balance the phases also group as in my first post so as to avoide 50 hz flicker which can be dangerouse if used in conjuction with moving machinary , i dont think this will be a problem if the ballasts are high frequency

3 core wouldn't, but 3 core and earth should I think. The live from the UH4 could feed both the brown and grey of the valve.
