I'm on with rewiring a front house in a back-to-back flying freehold property, where the top attic floor goes over the top of part of the house behind. I've got some floorboards up on the top floor, and the socket cables for this property runs alongside the lighting wiring for the house behind. I'm encountering more and more of the house behind's wiring. My concern is that in the future someone working in the house behind will come across the wiring I'm doing today and interfere with it or damage it. Are there any special measures to be taken in a case like this?

Found a few dangerous connections and damaged parts of the VIR. Was a bit concerned TBH, as this stuff is running right under a kiddies bedroom. Left the homeowner to broach the subject with the folks from the house behind. I wonder who owns the void between one house's floorboards and the other's ceiling.

We are in a flying freehold, haven't come across any of the neighbours wiring yet (original rubber still runs the length of all 3 houses). Been in there house and it's typical landlord, Bakelite wylex, nothing touched since the 60s, no fire alarms. Which could provide a potential problem given the houses are only separated by stud walls full of news paper
