Hi all. Someones asked me if i can wire a shower in there house. On inspection of there fuse board i saw it was an old re-wireable one and also does not have any spare ways on it. I dont want to change the fuse board for a bigger one because that will mean i'll have to do a periodic and most probably have to re-wire the lot.I'm trying to just add to the circuit if i can. Am i right in thinking that the best way would be to put the supply to the old fuse board in henley blocks, then tail off to a 2 way enclosure where i can put in a rcd, then connect the 10mm from the shower to that?
Thanks in advance

Yep.

Henley block and RCD 100% you can even buy a "shower CU" from most wholesalers for about ÂŁ25 x vat. I personally wouldn't want to run a shower without an RCD

thanks, yeah was always going to put shower on rcd just wanted to check about "tapping" off the feed to the old fuseboard as i dont want to have to do tests on that. I guess if i dont touch it i wont have to do anything to it thats why i wondered about sticking it in henley blocks and keep what i'm doing seperate

The same as the others .
But i would up rate all your bonds / put some in !
If it has got old 3036 board , we find most property's we see with these in have not just got undersized bonds they are just not there !
Always thought showers had to be on a rcd . Just shows , you learn something new every day !

Out of interest has anyone used the Proteus shower kit that's available? Has mini CU, RCD and breaker, plus a 45A shower pullcord. Normally don't like proteus so said no thanks but seemed a good price...?

Depends how it is connected, which is of course a practical issue, the terminals are usually designed for 6/10mm cable so if you can ensure the...
