Hi All,

Does it matter what side of the MCB you wire to for correct operation, when they are not mounted in a DB.

Most mcb's have no preferance to direction of current flow,so yes they will sense overcurrent either way. In fact single phase consumer units can differ from its 3 phase counterpart in relation to busbar mounts. ie top of the breaker in one board is the bottom of the breaker in another.
