Oh and Andy, if you could scan the smoke packet in that would be ace

Joking aside....
Like has been said, you need to ask your spark this info. There is not just the one way to do this, and he needs to be telling you the way he wants it doing. Researching it yourself and installing might save you money. But it also might cost you more if you balls it up.

Joking aside, I don't really want the smoke packet diagram, I won't be doing anything without running it past my spark first. My only outstanding question was what modules I needed to go with the Click faceplates. If there are different ways then fair enough, in my limited knowledge I had it down as being as simple as ones suitable for switching from one location only, ones for two locations and ones for three locations.

My spark is running on a day rate, not a job rate. As such (to my mind) it makes sense to research and solve things myself rather than add to his time and bill.

Given I want to get this signed off by Building Control at the end I would be pretty optimistic to DIY the electrics.

When I'm working on a day rate I don't charge for out of hours research, I put it down to doing a good job and keeping the client happy.

Isn't your spark self certifying?

Research what? if your spark needs your help with this then I would recommend you ditch him and get a real one in

At a guess, if he isnt using grids or clicks, as robbo suggests then he will struggle on standard switches. ie the intermediate with a 2 way, they dont do them. but i cant see an intermediate in his set up.

edit lmao im talking in riddles today

Aye ........... Jimmy Riddles. ;)

First post here so please be gentle. Looking for a helping hand on wiring lighting for a three storey home as it is baffling me a bit. What I want to achieve is the following:

GF: Four gang switch operating the outside light(1W), porch light(1W), ground floor hall light (2W) and first floor hall light (2W).
FF: Three gang switch operating the ground floor hall light (2W) , the first floor hall light (INT) and the second floor hall light (2W)
SF: Two gang switch operating the first floor hall light (2W) and the second floor hall light (2W).

Bit of advice would be much appreciated
Likely switch types above, but do check with your spark if this is what he is going to wire.
