You only posted in the trainee section an hour ago!

Proper opinions can't be given with such little information and half a plan. If you want help with what looks like your project you'll need to put in a bit more effort!

Re: Purlins

I have deleted your other duplicate threads Wilson12, I left this one open in Trainee section, can you can avoid opening duplicate threads in different sections please as it can become confusing to staff and members who maybe posting in them. Thanks.

Can you expand on your question please, do you mean for fixing to or using to carry cables ... purlins can come in several forms and there are a wide range of clips and hangers to fix to them.

Re: Purlins

all depends on what the purlins are made from. if wood, then cleat or clip. if metal, then girder clips are the favorite option. if the purlins are made of string, you're on your own , son.:smilielol5:

Re: Purlins

What kind of cables, will they need containment or are we talking swa's, micc, pvc/pvc etc all would warrant different methods to use the girders and purlins

Re: Purlins

It would be for high bay lighting in a workshop
Would this be correct
Running up to the ceiling in swa from ccu
Then running the swa along purlins to high bays
Then terminating to flex to the highbays
Hung on jack chains
That may be well off

Re: Purlins

It would be one of many methods you could employ, each situation may warrant a different solution, your question is a very broad one to give a simple answer to.

Budget, environmental influences, access etc all would play a role into the design here but with regards to your initial question you can get caddie clips to suit most install methods which hang or attach to girders and purlins... is this for an actual job or just theoretical ?
