Hello All,

I was listening recently to the MK 17th edition podcast as I've got my 17th ed exam coming in the next few weeks.

They started to talk about notifiable work in a kitchen. They went on to saying that if the kitchen was an open plan type (like a kitchen/dining room), then the notifiable area of work was within 3m of the sink - work outside of this 3m boundary was possible without notifying.

What's your own take on this ?

Cheers
Steve

Good question Steve, one of which im not sure of the answer.

However, personally, i would class anything above work tops the kitchen, but to be honest, there really isnt much left these days that isnt notifiable anyway.

Take a look at the IEE Guidance note 7-Special locations. It says as a guide only for open plan kitchens,3m from the edge of the sink or the nearest dividing wall
