i thought i would post this in this forum as im not really posting about a job or giving information on one!
ill let the powers that be decide where it should go!
i thought i would ask you how you feel what work is like in your area ( where ever that maybe )
over here in Northern Ireland things are starting to look bleak again, at the start of the year alot of firms started to lay off men put as the months went on work did slowly pick up again, not everybody got there jobs back obviously but the big contractors were getting busy.
now over here people let there guard down and all of a sudden the big firms once again are letting men go in large numbers. alot of NI firms got alot of work in the republic such as school contracts over the summer ( much to the anger of electrical contractors in the south , but then again sparks rate down there is 24euro an hour ) and with the pound being so weak that was like pricing against 2 men in the north so they didnt stand a chance.
although this recession is bottoming out i think it could be at least another year before we can start thinking of our jobs as secure. and with so many electricians out of work i think big projects such as the olympics, power stations, titanic quarter wages will remain low
