I have been working for a company almost full time for the last twelve months and really need the security of a full time position now. I never know it there is a weeks work to come or six months and I have no other employment leads.

I get no holiday pay or other benefits.

I once heard something about a company must offer full time employment to anyone who has been working under the CIS scheme after six months. Does anyone know more about this subject?

Thanks.

Best to contact the Inland Revenue on that one and see if they consider you as a sub contractor or employee for your particular circumstances. You are correct not sure on the exact details or time limits.

Hope that helps

Thanks, might be worth a go, I tried the employment service first, they told me to contact ACAS, who said nowt to do with them, see an employment solicitor. Don't want to stir the **** too much or I might get kicked out all together... doing one's head in it is.

Try CAB first or ring Inland Revenue and dont say who you are just ask if self employed sub contractor how much work can I do for the same person before I would be considered an employee shouldnt need to explain that its happening to you now.

personally if your working cis 4 and that company has kept you going for 12 months i'd be happy at the moment.surely you meet other subbies on site that you get on with just keep in touch as they move on then call them when works slow to see if theres an opening on there site.good luck, not many companies will be taking on the books at the mo they just cant guarantee to keep enough work for full time.
