Appointment to the post will be on the first point of grade with annual incremental progression for permanent posts. £332.89 per week (Pay Scale currently under review) Duties include the delivery of electrical and ad hoc and emergency reactive repairs and the delivery of new installation and refurbishment electrical works to Council properties throughout the Western Isles but more specifically in Lewis and Harris. The post holder will also be involved in the delivery of Statutory Compliance works to include Fixed Installation and Portable Appliance Testing. Requirements: Qualified to Approved Electrician level you must be able to work on your own initiative, have a good understanding of Health and Safety practices associated with the delivery of property repairs and maintenance. Too many people with chips on their shoulders, we have been/are in a recession, albeit its lower than what i earn now, if i needed a job id rather be taking that than nothing, you could always progress with them

Saw a job advertised this week for an industrial foreman, full on duties, gold card required, must be able to work weekends and its a national position away for couple of weeks at a time.

asda pay about the same,i would work for £8.32 ph no problem,just not as a qualified spark..its nothing to do with recession,its the greedy employers and unskilled men thats driving the rates down.

Even if that was after tax it's still laughable, I don't have a chip on my shoulder however I am fully aware I earnt more than that in my last 2 years of being an apprentice!
